hi all, i recently changed the bulbs in the headlamps to 80w ones, they worked fine for two weeks the coming back from blackpool lastnite the warning light came on on the dash, i checked the lights and the front left has gone, so after changing the bulb it still isnt working, fuses are fine, i just cant find the relays for the headlamps, surely someone here has had the same problem and knows where they are, :blackrs4:

Stupid question but have you checked the new one

Also check the wiring on the connector mines has been known to come loose

I had a similar problem with high power dipped beam bulbs....

What I thought in the end was the fact that the dipped has a big glass projector type lens caused the bulb to overheat and fail.

I have gone for some standard wattage xenon things, they are brighter than normal but dont blow every two weeks.

The Hi Power mains are fine as there is no big lump of glass sitting in front of the bulb...

As for your problem, have you got a multi meter to check that power is actually reaching teh connector in teh lamp unit? Oh and dont forget not to touch the glass of the bulb with your fingers (is this an urban myth or fact)...
