    Hi guys,

I’m trying to hardware my dashcam using a BlackVue power magic pro in the passenger footwell fuse box. However, I can not locate a switched live fuse. Using the multimeter with the ignition off, they all seemed to be live.

Does the A4 B9 have a time-out for switched fuses after you turn the ignition off, or do they turn off straight away?

If anyone has found and used one of the switched live fuses in the passenger footwell for hardwiring a dashcam, please could they let me know which one it is. Also, any advice for which permanent live fuse to use would also be appreciated.

    Many thanks.

I think there was a previous post that said that the 10A were all constant and the 15A were all switched? Or visa versa maybe. Try a spare slot on each and see what happens.

I don't know about the time-out though. That could make life a bit more difficult if you don't know how long to wait before using the multimeter. Haha.

There is a time out before the switched live goes off. So you will need to wait a few mins before testing with the multi-meter.

Following the other post worked a treat. All working well now.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

Just a word of caution for any BlackVue Cloud users though - make sure you check your privacy settings. There is an option to broadcast your live location, video footage and audio, which other BlackVue members can access.

I was having a play on the app and clicked on someone who was driving down the M5. When it connected I could see and hear everything that was going on. I would find that bl**dy disconcerting. What made me laugh though was that as soon as it connected, the camera announced to the driver "Live mode ON!". All I could hear was the bloke saying was "What the f**k?!" I swiftly disconnected and changed my settings so no-one can see or hear what I'm up to.

    Hahaha.
