Glow plug light came on ?

Hi,
My partner tried to start her car, and it delayed starting twice and the glow plug light flashed twice while the key was still In the ignition turned on. Then she started it again and it worked fine.
Any ideas ?

Was it very cold because from your description that's what diesel do when it's cold...
