hi guys I’m looking for a bit of advice and help with my gearbox.
I have a 1.8 non turbo engine code AVV year 2000, what would the gearbox code likely be? I’m finding second gear really notchy to get into so I’m looking to either replace it or how easy is it to repair?
Any help would be appreciated thanks guys.

Easier to replace with another gearbox unless you’re pretty handy when it comes to stripping down gearbox’s and replacing syncros. And you need the tools for it too

I’m thinking I might just get a replacement and then try my hand at a repair on the original.
Do you know what the gearbox code would be?

You can find the gearbox code on the gearbox itself or inside the front cover of the service book or the sticker on the boot floor.

Change the gearbox oil first. I had similar problem and changing the oil sorted it.
