    Hi guys.

I'm picking up a new audi early May and is the first time I've bought a car in like 20 yrs. I'm doing it on PCP (I think it's called that, I put a deposit down, make monthly payments to Audi finance, then hand it back or pay it off at the end of 4 yr term).

I've never heard of gap insurance before until the audi garage tried to flog it to me for like £500 + pa. A quick Google tells me I can get it a lot cheaper.

Can you guys help me out, where do I go and exactly what do I need?

    thanks

We offer very competitive combined RTI/Finance GAP over a 3 year term (https://www.chrisknott.co.uk/GAP/) - there's info on the cover on that page too - but it sounds like you're after 4 years coverage so maybe have a look online. There are plenty of providers out there.

    best,
    Nick

Definitely avoid buying it from the dealer... £500 is absurd, though your posts suggests it might have been £500 per year!!? If that's the case £500 per year is outrageous!

If the vehicle is brand new, you should really look at Replacement GAP insurance rather than Invoice GAP insurance (the former looks to pay up to the cost of replacing the vehicle with a new equivalent at the time of claim, the latter is just about getting you back to the price you originally paid after discount).

I have mine with GAPinsurance.co.uk - you could do far worse than check them out... though there are a number of other providers too.

    Hi,
Just to let you know that we offer a product called Total Loss Protection. Whilst it's not exactly the same as your traditional GAP insurance we feel for some costumers it can make a cost effective alternative.
Please feel free to take a look if you wish.
