Just a heads up. My DAZA was dropping coolant very slowly.
Asked a garage for pressure test / visual inspection which came up OK.
Decided to have a proper look, noticed a small-ish amount of what looked like oil on the chassis rails / near the aux belt area. Swapped out water pump and found:
The water pump was throwing out this oily stuff, which I think is bearing grease mixed with coolant. Not convinced the pump was working correctly as after replacing it temps are a good 10C cooler. Here's the type of stuff getting thrown around on that side of the engine:
I know there were lots of early mile failures of these but 41k miles seems a very short lifespan. Especially at £300+ for a water pump!
