Just a heads up. My DAZA was dropping coolant very slowly.

Asked a garage for pressure test / visual inspection which came up OK.

Decided to have a proper look, noticed a small-ish amount of what looked like oil on the chassis rails / near the aux belt area. Swapped out water pump and found:

The water pump was throwing out this oily stuff, which I think is bearing grease mixed with coolant. Not convinced the pump was working correctly as after replacing it temps are a good 10C cooler. Here's the type of stuff getting thrown around on that side of the engine:

I know there were lots of early mile failures of these but 41k miles seems a very short lifespan. Especially at £300+ for a water pump!

Did it solve the problem? Mine is also using coolant at a very slow rate, no visable leaks or oily stains and no problem on the pressure test.
