Fuel filter change

Hi

Does anyone know when the fuel filter should be changed on a 143bhp a4 b8. It is a 60 plate and done 57k miles

I thought the current thinking by VAG with respect to petrol fuel filters was - replace only when there was an issue! Trouble is, I handed my daughter's late 2009 Ibiza S/C 1.4 16V in for its "4 year" service at 29K miles and Seat replaced the filter - wife's Polo 1.4 16V at 11 years old and 98K still has its original filter fitted! I remember back in the old Jetronic days, Ford fitted huge fuel filters and they were replaced at a certain time, maybe 2 years - now petrol filters are very small and could have no recommended service period.

the B8 audi service booklet on page 10 states 38,000 miles(60,000KM) for the A4 -ALL TDI engines.
