So my belated voyage of discovery with the SQ5 continues. When I got it last December, I was rather disappointed to find it had no footwell lights (or so I thought). Nothing lit up when I opened the doors, and when I looked in the vehicle settings menu , it listed exterior lighting but not interior lighting, as the user manual suggested. So I was surprised and confused today when scrabbling around under the dash to retrieve something to see footwell light lenses. I took another look in the MMI and noticed a setting for Background Lighting, and a sub menu marked Individual, which I’d not previously explored. When I did explore further, I found listings for all the interior lights, including footwell. The brightness button for the footwell lights was turned right down to zero. Needless to say, it’s now turned up to maximum. So I’m delighted that I do have footwell lights but astonished that it’s taking me so long to find these things out about my car!
