faulty ignition switch/barrel

Hi guys.

Posted a while back about my Concert head unit randomly turning on and off.

Found out why its going off - the key has a bit of play in the barrel, and the ignition switch is obviously being turned on/off.

Is this a common problem ( how much work involved in fixing ?)

It could be the ignition switch & it can be replaced as long as its not the barrel itself, done a few.

Is it an easy enough job to do NHN? does it need any coding?
I think my ignition switch may be on the blink too, my stereo sometimes switches off when the engine is off but the key is still in, have to turn it on and off a few times to sort it.

Just seen your previous thread ibisa3, sounds the same problem as mine, but I thought radio was ment to stay on with the key at position "0" until you take it out??

Sometimes I can remove the key, the radio stays on, and the interior lights dint illuminate.. .
