Engine oil

Hello, what engine oil should be best used for an s3 (APY). I'm currently using motul 5w-40 (not sure with one exacly). Should the oil have a vw 503.01 spec?

I also plan on putting an oil cooler..

5w40 quantum platinum is the normal recommend oil. VW502/505 spec. Up to a year or 10,000 miles. Would say 6,000 ideally.

Ahh the oil debate , 502.00 505.01 even or...

Anyway more importantly the 1.8T killer sump oil pick up pipe renewal and larger oil filter .
