Hi all,

I have a 2000 Audi A3 1.8 T-Sport that has done 62,000 miles.
The engine emmision light has come on and Im not sure whats wrong with it.
It drives perfectly normally, the only thing thats wrong is that when ticking over the revs flick about a lot and it sometimes sounds like its nearly stalling. Also my fuel economy seems a bit lower than normal.
Any advice as to what it could be would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Adam

get it on vagcom but i would guess a dodgy MAF im sure someone will be along shortly to confirm.

Try unplugging the MAF and see if it runs any better.

could be a lambda sensor on its way out, most likely to be the one after the cat.
Wouldn't have thought a dodge maf would throw up the emissions light but i could be wrong.

I had a new MAF sensor about 4 months ago so im certain that is ok.

It could just be a split pipe. Have a look under the engine cover and check for any perished pipework
