Had a quote from Edinburgh Audi of £982 to change the cambelt and water pump on my TDI. Can anyone recommend a good indie in the Edinburgh area that will charge a realistic price?

Witherspoons in Dean Village or Autohaus in Loanhead ( I use them now because they're handier to get to). Both Audi specialists who know their stuff.

Try AVW Autocentre in Gilmerton Road. They've done a few things for me since our car went out of warranty. Their rates were much more reasonable than that bunch in Sighthill whose name I really don't want to mention. You've got the #3, #8, #29 and #400 buses stopping next to them.
