Wore a new pair of jeans in the S4.... red leather seats now tinged with blue....

Anyone suffered this and may be able to recommend a product that can get rid of it?

    Cheers

But how is a protection solution going to remove dye from already stained seats?

Seats already protected with Gtechniq leather guard.... hopefully that might make it easier removing the dye if I can find a good cleaner

We’re about to replace my wife’s car with an Evoque with Cirrus - love the look over the black leather but worried about marks. Can you get most out or will we regret not getting black?

I clean my seats regularly with good old Autoglym leather cleaner and never had any issues removing marks or any dye from jeans, I have the magma red seats, they’re still looking great after 14 months of ownership.

Evoque! No! Was the worst car I've ever owned - after 6 months LR bought it back. With an Audi the vehicle is finished from an R&D point of view, with LR you are part of the process. The BabyRR forum is a great source of info...

I’m afraid so - I’ve heard mixed reports about the Evoque, but she really wants one (well she really wants a Velar but we can’t afford it!)

I succumbed to the flash exterior, and yes I like the front end of the Velar too. If she has become familiar with an Audi she will find LR ownership a frustrating experience - stuff that we take for granted in an Audi like our SD/USB music being more or less instantly available every time you start the car....that'll be 20 minutes on a 16GB stick. Rear seat passengers crack their heads on the top of the door apertures, it'll rattle and squeak, the panels don't fit - it's rare to see an Evoque where the tailgate actually fits and lines up with the other panels, same goes for the fuel filler flap. Skin deep beauty, if you don't look too closely....makes me shudder to think about it.

I saw the service department of Guy Salmon so many times I was in 1st name terms with all the reception staff (its part of the LR ownership experience). LR lent me a brand new £80k Range Rover Sport - I had it for three straight months. The radio would switch itself off driving down the road (they all do that sir), it would beep to say it had locked all the doors, except they were actually all still open, the tailgate would open of it's own accord (yep, they all do that sir).

However I do know the challenge - it's all about style rather than substance.

Recommend these. Got the transfer of oil from my Barbour jacket off my 1 week old seats. Also leaves a leather smell too. If you watch YouTube videos of white details he uses them and look at some of the results.

It’s replacing a Freelander 2 so we know some of the LR foibles, but that’s been faultless since we’ve owned it. I know the Evoque is a risk but do know a couple of people who’ve owned and liked them. You’re right though the style is a big factor.

And the rattles won’t be driving me mad, I’ve got the S4 :)

The RS has just had the Gtechniq L1 Leather Guard AB treatment - need to leave it to dry for 24 hours now. Doing a very un-male thing and reading the instructions (maybe for the 1st time despite having used it in the past) that high-wear areas need retreating every two months.

Seeing the baby wipes suggestion further up the thread reminds me that they blessed with near miracle properties for cleaning tasks, shall have to get some and keep them in the car.

My leather was already protected with Gtechniq Leather Guard before the annoying dye transfer from jeans.

tried a couple of things and it wouldn't come off.

Turns out that vanish carpet cleaner sprayed onto a microfibre does the trick quite nicely!

Yes I assume so. The leather guard did it's job mind as it came off easy.

    Been meaning to re-apply...
