Thats a fair price as they have to make sure its upto temp, remove old, fit new filter, put new in, 6 litres if not removing mechatronics unit, then get upto temp then calibrate box & then defined test drive in various speeds.

Not quite right. For a re-fill only 4.5 ~ 5 litres required. For re-fill after mecs unit opened then it's 7 litres.
I've done a few changes myself. Quite straight forward, but needs doing properly.
Some drain the oil, measure the volume, then put the same amount back through the oil filter.
Others use the proper fill point and if they have not got vcds, use an infrared thermometer to check the oil temp in the dsg oil pan.
Strange, as had mine done twice by master tech friend at audi whilst next to him & both times used up best part of 6 litres without any loss.
Problem is, if we said 5-5.5 people would be asking can I get away with 5 & then when someone says yes & they are short of some, they would be ****** at us, the actual requirement according to my audi guys is 6 litres, which is why its generally sold in 6 litre boxes & both times mine has arrived specifically in a box for only 6 litres, so stands to reason.
So we'll have to agree to disagree as such based on personal experiences mate
