The throttle body without vagcom?I've heard there is a way but can someone give me a lifeline????the car is a 2002 1.6 se model.thanks in advance.

To do it properly mate no, you need vag com as when I use our diagnostic gear at work it requires me to slowly press the accelerator until at full throttle. Why what is your car doing ??
The revs are bouncing between 1k and 2k when its warm.was gonna take off and clean throttle. so deffo need vagcom?

Try this. Turn ignition on, but don't start the car. Now press the throttle pedal all the way down and hold for 5 secs, then release it and wait 5 secs before starting the car as normal. This works on 1.8Ts with dbw throttle, unsure what your 1.6 has?

You posted this as I was making my reply. Check for split hoses around your airbox.
On mine, I open the bonnet and turn ignition on, it then whistles for 30 seconds or so. Not sure if 1.6 the same.
