Dash Switching off While Driving

The dash of my C7.5 has started switching off at random intervals when driving. It only happens once every fortnight or so, and turns straight back on but it’s a bit disconcerting.

All lights and DIS turn off, and the needles fall back down to 0.

Anyone else experienced this? I had CarPlay activated a few weeks ago and that’s the only thing I can think of that might’ve had an impact, but I’ve no idea if the MMI software is linked to the dash in any way.

Depends who activated it & if they did anything adverse so to speak.

If it started after they activated, then occam's razor so to speak.

Anything else that could be causing it? Is the dash unit prone to giving bother?!

Are you doing anything specific when it happens, like indicating? Also, does the trip reset?
It could be that there is an electrical short, you can get hairline cracks in solder joints and this can cause intermittent things like this. In both my previous VAG cars I had to send the dash off to be repaired by a specialist.

No not that I’m aware of!

I don’t think the trip resets either, but would need to double check.

There is a software update to address this know bug. Had it done to my A6 a few years back.
