Hi there,

I'm looking at findin out the service history of a car that i've been bidding on. Its stolen recovered, & done 88k, but i first of all want to know the service history and wether its ever had the cam belt changed or not. Can i ring an audi dealer & give the reg or VIN number, and can they tell me the service history? (if they do its obviously not going to be free of charge!!)

Has anyone else ever done this? is there any other information that they could tell me either? Cheers, its just i need to do this asap!!

I did with a car I bought this recently, but only after I'd provided proof that I was the new owner.

Actually, looking back a bit further, I seem to remember when I was thinking of buying my very first A4, back in 2000, (it was a 2-year old model that Fontain was selling with FASH & still under manufacturer's warranty), I rang up Audi UK with the reg details, and they confirmed the car's history over the phone free of charge.

That went along way towards convincing me to buy it. Don't know if they still do that, but why not give it a go.

Morning
Phone Audi uk customer services and they will be able to tell you full history services and warranty work carried.
Dealers shouldn't really under the date protection act unless you have premission fromt he reg keeper.

When I bought my current car four months ago, the service book showed that the supplying dealer had done all the servicing for the first owner. I rang the dealer & they sent my copies of the invoices for all the work that had been done on the car. Data Proection wasn't an issue because the only personal info the invoices revealed was the previous owner's name and address, but I already had that from the V5 & other documentation anyway.

YES! Ring Audi UK with Reg number, they'll tell you when and where the service was took place, we did this on our new A3 just to doubley check.

For my A4 I rang the prev dealer that had done all the services on the car and they could not tell me if the Cambelt had been changed or not. The specialist that was currently servicing the car reckoned it had been done, but because Audi couldn't confirm this I had to fork out for another Cambelt as precaution. :(

does anybody know the number that i would need to call? Sorry, but i'm new on the audi scene.....from a Vauxhall corsa --------> Audi A4 Thanks for the replies aswell!! I aint got the V5 yet though!!
