Brushed silver ring on steering wheel...

Hi all,

You noticed that the silver ring in the middle of my A3 S-Line steering wheel is peeling. It has a brushed effect but looks like it's actually chrome underneath.

At the moment it looks well scruffy but I'm not sure if it's a separate part that can be removed. I'm not comfortable trying to pry something off that's so close to the airbag.

Anyone know if it can be removed? Or a method of tidying it up?

Audi being Audi, I'd guess that it isn't a separate part. That'd be way too easy for the owner.
I suspect that you're looking at a new air bag cover or very careful repaint.
Someone on here will know for certain.
