Not new to Audi's, but thinking of buying an A6 C6 Avant 3.0 TDI for Caravan towing.
Semi retired from motor trade, with 35+ years behind me. Got a few t-shirts lol.
Looking at the A6 with its cam chains at back, seems daft, but they featured this design on a few engines.
I will post my thoughts in the C6 section, on why some engines have chain problems, whilst others don't.
