Brake Vacuum Pump

Hi all,

My girlfriends A3 2004 2.0fsi was getting an ABS warning when travelling faster than 60mph, I plugged in VCDS and it said:

"Brake Boost Vacuum System: Mechanical Failure - P1479 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded, Intermittent"

Where is the brake vacuum system located and how expensive are they to replace/fix?

Had this replaced on my S3 recently and the pump is located on the right of the engine block if standing at the front of the car looking at the engine. The unit itself was about £300 but can't remember what the fitting was as it was done with a load of other stuff.
