I have 1996 A4 Jap Import 2.6. Various elec problems but main one is high level brake light staying on even when connector in boot is removed, and even when battery is disconnected. Means that battery flattens over a couple of days parking. Other problem is climate control when switched on causes vibration and revving of engine. Any thoughts/remedies?

You must have the wrong connector for the brake light, it can’t light up with nothing connected. Only other possibility is someone has teed in some extra wiring closer to the brake light pod.
