Morning all,

Have any of you bitdi owners serviced the car recently - I'm about to go on a bit of a tour (approx 2000 miles) of north wales / Ireland and back, and noticed that I've got a service coming up within the next 500 miles, so would prefer to get it done before hand.

I live in Kingston upon Thames so wondered if you had any recommendations of dealerships or would you recommend any specialist independents.

Ball park on cost would be great, have budgeted £400 -£500 as I think it's going to be its first major..... 3 years old and 17k miles....

Cheers in advance.

Gordie

My big one was the last one at 38000 miles. About £500 as it included all the filters getting changed. At 3 years you have the brake fluid change.
You might be less as I think the filters are mileage dependent not time.

At 17k miles, pay Audi £199 for an oil change only, got to TPS and order and air filter(pretty sure they are suppose to be good for 40k miles, but I'd change it more regularly than that personally) and pollen filter to fit yourself, job done. Fuel filter not due, brake fluid is optional. I feel that changing the brake fluid every 2 years is scaremongering, but if it helps the car to keep the warranty, get it done.

The first brake fluid change is at 3 years then every 2. My fuel filter also got changed but again, I think this is mileage dependent.

I got a Audi service deal think it was £415 for a major and a minor service. Its on their website somewhere for cars up to 4 years old iirc

Audi fixed price servicing is for cars over 3 years old. Interim £199 and major £399.

You can put the car on a service plan up until its 5 year old

I initially looked at it but they put you to FIXED servicing so if you do mega miles you won't really be any better off

Equally don't forget that most, if not all, Audi dealers will price match garages within 10-15 miles.

You do need a written quote and it has to be usin genuine parts but you could potentially save a fee quid and still maintain full Audi history.

That can be very handy if and when you need to claim goodwill once the car is outside its warranty period :)

Thanks all,

Think I'll wait until it's 3 then, sometime in early September, it will only have done 7k over the year since last service (in August last year).

Need to check the computer again though, as if it chimes that a service is immediately due it may invalidate future goodwill as the warranty will be up also in September.....

I'm also going to check about extending the warranty as well I suppose...... Bit of piece of mind and all that!
