Q7 Battery issue? Deeper issue? Jump start everyday!

Hi all,

So, long story short - For the past 6 weeks, I've had to jump start my car almost every morning (I'm using a NOCO GB40 1000A Jump Starter)
I've taken the car to the garage who tested the battery and it's fine. They said it was 40% charged, so they charged it, but a day or so later, the issue is back.

I've just bought a CARISTA OBD2 scanner and these are the results - I'm hoping someone has a bit more knowledge than I do that would possibly be able to point me in the right direction to pin-pointing the issue.

Out of interest, how old is the battery? How old is the car?
Remember with the battery flat, you're going to have all sorts of issues logged which are not genuine issues - In actual fact, my 12v battery in the e-tron had gone fairly low a few weeks back and I could not even open the door from the inside - scanned the car and had a whole load of errors from braking system to door modules etc.

Charged the battery using a ctek over the day/night and its not happened since.

Would be good to also know what the SOC for the battery is...
Could be something as simple as a bad battery to maybe a battery drain somewhere?
Have you got any accessories plugged in (dashcams, your Carista, cig lighter chargers etc)

Firstly, thanks for the reply!

The car is a 2007 Audi Q7 - The battery is less than a year old - BOSCH from Eurocarparts.
As mentioned originally, the garage I took it too, charged it, but only for around 15mins. I dont think it was enough personally.

Will the ODB2 give me the SOC? If so I'll go scan that again now.
I dont have any accessories plugged in. I do have an Apple Car Play system, but thats always been there. Never caused me issues before. I say "always" - I had it installed around a month after buying the car (2 years ago) - These battery issues have been happening around 6-8 weeks.

It all started from when I used the car to jump start my work van once. May be a coincidence, but it just seems to have gotten progressively worse.

Yeah, it's definitely the right battery for the car. I've had that checked.

To be honest, for the sake of £79.99 for a CTEK charger, I might give that a go.
I'm going to see if the Carista has the battery level details now and report back.

Nah ODB2 doesn't show battery levels. Not on the 2 apps that I've tried anyway.

I'll give charging the battery a go and see if that resolves anything

15 minutes might put amp or two in but realistically a full charge will be 8 hours or more with a half decent charger. Carista on some vehicle’s now does live data so it might be worth seeing what your alternator is doing if that’s an option as it may be on its way out. This won’t necessarily show up on Carista unfortunately

15 minutes to get a battery up isn't nowhere near enough, ctek takes a day or so to get to the 8th stage of charging which includes maintenance work so to speak.

If batteries young then maybe look at the alternator as unless the battery has had some reverse load that's damaged from the jump start, it's unlikely that, but it can also happen so don't discount the battery just yet.

Right, I've fully charged it with the CTEK over night. Everything was successful.
Started first time and it's been fine driving today.

I won't be driving it now until tomorrow morning, so that'll be the true test for me.

Update...
Attempted to start the car this morning and it's dead :-( Will not start.
Battery is dead again. So something is CLEARLY draining that battery overnight.

Jump started it using a NOCO Boost Plus GB40 - Started straight away when this was connected, didn't even struggle!

So, I've cleared all fault codes and run a fresh scan when the engine is running and these are my results:

I think I’ve found what’s causing the drain. But I don’t know what it’s called or what it actually is.

Last night I got in the car to run some more tests, it was late and quiet outside (I live on a busy road)
I could hear, what sounded like a fan coming from the passenger side footwell. Upon further investigation (my sticking my ear/head closer and closer to where the noise is coming from)
I’ve got out of the car and listened closer to the front passenger wheel and the noise is definitely coming from behind that wheel. It’s almost as if it’s a high pitched noise that’s trying to constantly do something.

Looking back at the errors I’m getting, I remember seeing this one:
