Just to confirm, First service done at York Audi

S3 2007

£187.00

They seem to run an efficient Dealership, work carried out to my deadline on 1.30pm. And they didnt wash it as instructed!

Very pleased, more of the same please:icon_thumright:

Just booked my car in at Macclesfield Audi for it's first long life service.

14000 miles
£240.00

Just had second service on my 2006 A3 S-line 2ltr 140 TDI 37000 miles.

£271 Warrington Audi, washed, vacummed and given A4 Avant courtesy car for the day.

Tried to get me to have brake fluid changed for £96 but declined as the car is only just 18 months old!

Gilders Sheffield

The vehicle is approaching two years old. Audi Advise replacement of the Brake Fluid every two years.

Brake Fluid Cost £89.58 inc VAT

Sytner Nottigham

Enquired at Hadwins Lindale for a 1st service based on the long life service intervals. £250 for a 170 S-line

Booked my 56 plate 2.0 TDI in at Chesterfield Audi for it's first longlife service.
Service light came on at 15123 miles
Quoted £180 inc VAT which did seem ****** cheap with a courtesy car!! Will let you know how it went..

My car needs a service soon (2003 A3 2.0FSI) 45,000 miles. It was last serviced in Jan 2006 where the usual stuff was done plus brake fluid changed etc. My thoughts are should I change it to a 10,000 mile / 12 month service interval when I book it in, because in my opinion that’s a hell of a long time for a car not to be touched at all. Sidlow garage in Surrey wants £270.00 for the next service.

Probably doesn't include the pollen filter which is due at 20k. Might as well get it done too.

Quite note to Dave R - just had my car serviced by Huntingdon Audi, amazingly different service to the utterly pants I've had so far - they collected the car and returned it, when they said they would, performed all things that was asked and even cleaned the air con for me - (I guess I shouldn't be suprised by good service but with the shocking experience i've had so far I am!)

cheers for the tip!

Shame Hatfield and Whetstone Audi couldnt do the same - jokers

Well impressed with Audi Chesterfield. Everything went smoothly. They didn't clean the car which is what i asked for, but vaccuumed it which was good. Well i got a 57 plate A3 1.9 tdi courtesy car, and that was dog slow!! Poverty spec too, it's amazing how I didn't notice how many extras my motor has actually got! But I won't complain it was just good to get a courtesy car!
Anyway, for £198.96 they did the longlife service WITH a pollen filter change!! Booked in next week for change of seatbelt under warantee too. I felt they were honest and as Audi main dealers go that is saying something!

today dis showed 21 days or 4300 mls until 1st service my car is 2.0 tfsi q 1 year old with 4700 mls i thought audis ran 2 yrs between services rang newcastle audi who said the factory must have set car to 1 yr or 9000mls if i book it in for they will do the service and reset the car for the longlife service intervals costing £295 all in
i then rang carlise audi who said the same but their charge would be £158 this did not inc courtesy car or valet can anyone tell me why there is such a difference in price or is the carlise price to good to be true

From experience and comments on here either:

1) It was set to time and distance servicing i.e. not Longlife OR

2) You drive it hard or do a lot of short journeys - I guess the latter could be true from your low mileage. This brings the service around quicker.

£158 is very cheap, get an itemised quote from them - may not inc Longlife oil, this is much more expensive. I paid approx £200 which inc the pollen filter which is done every 2 years I believe. Average on here seems to be about £250 for first AVS, some as high as £400. They should all charge the same amount of labour, think it is 1.1hrs for 1st AVS, if however you require the pollen filter to also be changed, this would then increase the time to 1.3hrs. Many dealers don't stick to these, make sure yours does by asking for an itemised quote.

I have certainly learnt my lesson, always phone around to get the best quote!

I just got charged a whooping £405 for a first year AVS by Whetstone Audi!

And thats with a discount becouse I kicked off!

What a totally RIP OFF!

Just had a quote from Brighton Audi for the S3 1st service.

£320 for everything he said.... didn't get a chance to check exactly what, but he did mention the below.
Brake Fluid
Oil

Going to try crawley audi

Further to my post above..... Crawley have quoted £247, includes pollen filter.

Lincoln Audi

Second AVS service on A3 2.0TDi Sportback S-Line DSG
Inc Pollen filter
Brake fluid change (2 years)
Engine Oil and Fuel flush
Spare 1Ltr top up oil bottle in boot
Charged to washer fluid top-up but didn't use but put full bottle in boot
A4 2.0TDi S-Line Avant Loan car

£281 inc VAT

Not too bad I didn't think and excellent service which is all I have ever had from Lincoln Audi from day one. I feel the true value of a dealer is in the aftersales service they provide rather than simply the cheapest around.

Luckily for me if seems Lincoln Audi offer the service and good prices too.

£320 for everything

Had a few quotes for mine also best being £177 and the worst £288. Might be worth trying a few dealers further afield, my cheapest was Hadwins Audi in Grange-over-Sands Cumbria, means travelling about 70 miles but it is worth the journey as I get a day or two in the lake district, get the car serviced and still save a few bob.

Mark

Gilders Chesterfield

1.6 Billy Basic A3 loaner

Just had my 1st longlife service done at 17042 miles on my 2.0tdi sport at Huddersfield Audi(supplying dealer also), mixed thoughts though!
They gave me an A4 2.0tdi S-line Avant with the 7speed auto. Quite impressed with that but not the steering. Not as direct as the A3's.

oil Filter 5.35
Sump plug 99p
Long life oil 62.47
1700375Filter? 6.81
GTX Longlife 1ltr bottle 14.46!!
Washer fluid 3.23
Service lube 2.99

Labour 131.85
Total incl vat 256.75 so not the cheapest.

They quoted 260 when I dropped the car off but the bill came to 295.00 before I kicked off a bit and without hesitation they discounted the labour by 23.27 and the parts by 9.64 + vat.
This will make me think twice about my next service there if this is how they try it on woth the invoice figures. They all probably get what they can but have room to discount should the customer complain! so always do!

A3 2.0T FSI Quattro, 26.5K miles, first registered June '06

£253.78 service
£85.95 brake fluid change

They are 'to be' my local dealer.... never mind the price... how was the service. Ive not heard anything positive about them yet.

Sales-wise, I cant praise the guy Im dealing with high enough yet.

2.0TDi (140) - Second AVS £225 at Preston Audi.
Collected car from our office in Golborne, near Ashton in Makerfield.
Phoned to inform me that they needed to carry out warranty work and they had the parts in.
Clutch thrust bearing, which I had reported as a whining noise when setting off in 1st gear and the NS front CV boot.
They left a litre of top up oil in the car which I hadn't asked for and haven't been charged for.

Warrington were about £320 and Bolton about £295.

This was my cost from stafford Audi
20K Serivce (a.k.a long life)

Cost me £175.00 then they wanted...(EBAY PROMOTION)

Aircon refill £69.99
Brake fluid £69.99
Nice clean car priceless:icon_thumright:

You must be mad! You could drive 10 miles (if that) up the road to Gilders Chesterfield and save £80!

To answer Kontraband - no they have no intrest in customer service - sales guys are worse than cockroaches, see how intrested he is when you've bought it

Sorry. Didn't see the replies.

I haven't been yet. I got the prices when they were pulling my leg for wiper blades. And I may yet use Chesterfield. I certainly won't be using a main dealer for the brake fluid or anything else like pads etc. I may be tied to a dealer for servicing but they can forget it for anything more specific. JBS for all that.

And Kontraband. Yes, they're bad.

Second AVS service on an A3 2.0TDI from Audi Preston....

Initial quote £254 inc free MOT, but if I didn't need it valeted and didn't need a courtesy car, they could do it for £209 inc VAT.

That's £1 cheaper than my local independent VW specialist quoted, so its booked into Preston Audi to keep the FASH intact....

Can't fault Preston Audi. Did exactly what they said they would for the price quoted of £209.50

2nd AVS service done, free taxi into Preston town centre, free MOT voucher, car ready when promised, no pressure to spend any more on unnecessary work - although politely reminded that brake fluid change was due in September and DSG gearbox oil change due in another 7000 miles...

And yes - they did charge on the itemised bill for washer fluid when it was full to the brim - but that was part of the quoted overall agreed price, so it wasn't an issue....

Just paid Battersea Audi £350 for first variable service. Thats the cheapest quote I found.

Docklands £450
Wimbledon £380

They all gave me the option of moving onto fixed servicing, the fixed service would have cost me £200-250. The difference between them is that the fixed service uses standard life oil (and will need another service in 1 yr or 10k miles), where as the variable service uses long life oil (and could last for upto 2 yrs or 20k miles), plus i'm told that the varibale service includes a number of checks that the fixed service doesn't.

Are we all talking about the first varibale service or just the 1 yr / 10k mile oil change ? Seems we are comparing different things

2nd AVS service done, free taxi into Preston town centre, free MOT voucher, car ready when promised, no pressure to spend any more on unnecessary work.

Well contrary to everything I previously said I ended up taking the car to Peter Gilder Audi. £315.62 for second AVS plus brake fluid. Robbing dogs. It was actually about £350 with the new wiper blades they'd kindly fitted. I think 'on your bike' was mentioned. See my post above from March 2nd.

I have just been quoted £220 for my first AVS from Crewe Audi for my S3. S3 is nearly a year old and I have just past 6,000 miles. Initially they quoted £254 but that was with the pollen filter which I don't need changing.

I also have a quote with a Audi/VW specialist www.qrsport.com for £140.

I think I will go with Audi. I thought Crewe Audi would be a lot more!

Well my S3 is due a service in about 2000 miles (which is very very soon).

I guess it pays to shop around so I will do that and tell you what I have found... It also needs two front tyres... lololol

Pedro

S3 first service today @ Audi Wearside
£216.12 all in...Oil, Filters, etc

Good service all round, even doing a good-will on my parcel shelf which i broke..!! Tasks were explained clearly & concisely...

Peter Gilder Audi Sheffield/Hull £195 for Oil Change, Oil Filter and checks....seems a bit excessive but Reading wanted £350 for it...

My first variable service for my S3

£295 all in... includes oil filter, air filter and polen filter change as well. Air filter is recommended only at £40k miles but I like my engine to breathe well... I requested it. Also got a cortesy car free of charge (sometimes is not the case....)

This gives a mere £19.5 pounds a month to keep my S3 up and running!! (15 months of ownership)

Might not be the cheapest but I found it OK. Portsmousth Audi

Pedro

Just had my first AVS carried out on my S3 at 10,000 miles.

Came in at £239.27 which included oil and filter change, pollen filter, screen wash and some spray maintenance.

All done at Poole Audi - great service as always. They quoted £275 at first but I quoted some other prices I had got locally and they dropped it
to match, can't knock that!
