Auto HVAC / Heater Control Unit Swap

Hopefully someone can help me

I am the new proud owner of a 2013 Black Edition B8.5 Saloon V6 TDI that has Alcantara electric + bolster (non memory) + seat occupied recognition s-line seats without seat heating and would like to add seat heating.

Firstly, heating elements; Does anyone know is the heating elements will be already installed into the seats and just disconnected?

Secondly, the controller; I currently have controller Auto HVAC 8K2 820 043 S (climate without heated seat control in piano black), it looks like either of the following controllers should do but could someone check and confirm for me please:

8K2 820 043 T
8K2 820 043 AQ
...or provide other suitable replacement part numbers

I will take a look under one of the seats over the weekend to see if i can see any wiring for heating circuit(s). I guess that i'm looking for PINS/Cables in the green connector...

Okay, so time to revive this thread.

As expected, i do not have the heating elements pre-installed meaning i will need to acquire some then strip the seats down. I manage this on my Mk4 golf a few years ago so i can't see it being much different.

2x 8K0963555AE (lower seat heating elements for sport seats)
2x 8K0963557R (upper seat heading elements for sport seats)

So... according to photos when searching for images of '8K0 907 063 DG' it looks like my BCM(1) doesn't have PINs available in connector G (T6f/green). Since the controller is not too difficult to gain access to, i'll take a look just in case but it doesn't look good

Pin 1: Seat heating front left (heated driver's seat -Z6, heated driver's seat backrest -Z7); not if seat ventilation fitted)
Pin 2: Vacant
Pin 3: Terminal 30 - 3
Pin 4: Vacant

Does anyone know part numbers for a 'highline' BCM? Online ETKA sites don't provide this level of info

So, i have confirmed that the following BCM/J519/Cent. Elect. support seat heating, now i just need to confirm that they also support 8 channel PDC and Xenon's etc.

Sorry to revive this thread but did you ever get to the bottom of this?

I have a 2012 (Facelift 8K) A4 and have retrofitted heated seats along with the control panel and BCM from the donor car

I’ve used Odis to remove the Component Protection, and the heated seats work, however now the front parking sensors and AC doesn’t seem to work (although the aux fans/heating work as they should).

I’m now wondering if I need to replace the BCM for one that has front parking sensors, along with a control panel from the exact same age as my car (as the donor car was a 2013).

If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated

Surely it will just be down to re-coding the new BCM to enable the front parking sensors, have you looked to see how the coding on the new BCM compares with the coding of the original one?

I stupidly didn’t take any coding off the old BCM, so I think the next plan is to refit the old BCM and control panel, remove the component protection, grab all the codes off it, then fit the new BCM and control panel (+ remove component protection) then hope I can change the coding to the original and code in the heated seats.

Is this what you’d suggest or is there an easier way around it?

I’ve tried to code the front sensors in but it makes no difference at all. Also for some reason the AC doesn’t work although it’s all coded in. I’m convinced now that there may be some hidden coding that’s different on both the BCM’s.

So, OPS or at least front and rear parking sensors have already been working in your car, and now with the donor car BCM and upgraded HVAC controller fitted, the AC and some other functions do not work or can not be coded in, weird, I've no answer other than go through all the options in the coding looking for something obvious.
