Audi S3 tachometer to A3 1.6

I am an owner of a Audi A3 1,6 sports and i would like to use the DIS function.

I was thinking to change my existing instrument cluster with a S3 dash so as to have the little display unit.

Does anybody knows if the S3 dash is compatible with my instrument ???

Is it just plug and play or it will need more wiring??

A few of us have looked into this before, but it just seems too complicated to do, and would expect it would be complete harnesses that would be needed in conjunction with the instrument cluster.

I may have been able to have told you one way or the other but I've been out bidded on ebay twice. Most of the ones that appears are off the facelift and/or in Kph and so are unsuitable for me. There was a chap who sold the loom, sensors and cluster altogether but a guy bought it outright seconds after the bidding started /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I've just sent a DIS conversion kit across to a friend in America.

To convert to DIS you need to cut the appropriate sub-loom from a donor vehicle. DIS is fully inegrated into the car loom, and hence you need to cut relevant wires. Fitting involves removing the dashboard and soldering the new DIS loom in, along with connecting a relay.
