Audi cabriolet Hydraulic fluid Resovoir in boot (electric rooF)

AUDI CABRIOLET 1993 L REG.

My electric roof has stopped working
1) release T bar handle
2) windows go down as they should
3)press roof opening button, roof starts to open but storage cover which should lift , only LIFTs up by 4 inches then stops.

I have checked wire looms all ok !

I checked the Hydraulic fluid level in the resovoir of the roof opening system in the boot ... and it is well below the minium level.

What type of Hydraulic fluid do i use to top it up ?

I have been told that it is the same fluid as the POWER STEERING FLUID IS THIS CORRECT ?

I have the same problem with a 'P' reg, where is the reservoir?
