audi a3 keyless entry

hi guys so ive currently got a audi a3 2016 S line model and ive noticed that on the handle i have the sensor which can unlock the door and locking it without using the key itself, however this sensor dont seem to be working ? any ideas on why or how it can be activated

All A3s have the recessed area on the handle, including those without keyless entry.

Assuming you have a start button instead of a traditional steering wheel ignition barrel, there are some possible causes:

Door sensor broken
Keyless entry disabled in VCDS
Key sync error / low battery

…or the car just has keyless go and not entry.

Check the vehicle spec in MyAudi

There should be sticker in the spare wheel well, or within the bumpf that comes with the car. You can use this to decode them and see what options the car has http://vag-codes.info/vag-option-codes

I didn’t know that was an option on the 8V - every day is a learning day.

This could be the situation. Or it could be a low charge car battery if you have keyless entry.
