Any ideas?

I’ve got a squeak which I thought was coming from the fan belt but now I’m not so sure, it sounds more from the gearbox when you stick your head underneath. It sounds exactly like a belt but doesn’t change when you rev the car as you would expect with the fan belt? The gearbox is due for a service but can’t think what this could be.also it’s not all the time, mainly when it’s just been started and is a bit damp.
Any ideas?

Post a recording of the squeak, that may help others identify the sound.
