I was driving home from Glasgow along the M8 last night coming off up the sliproad joining onto the bypass in 3rd gear I was gradually building up speed, it felt the car was holding back when the turbo would normally kick-in around 4 thousand rpm but instead it gave off a loud bang from the exhaust. Going up my gears it repeated. It didnt sound or feel normal at all so I slowly built up speed to get me home. Coming to the end of bypass I tried again to put the foot down in 6th gear this time.. the turbo kicked in but was really rough and the car was vibrating a little. On the smaller roads I tried a few pulls in 2nd 3rd and 4th but it didnt pull as hard as normal. I went out to look today everything looked ok but noticed a few pipes looked wet on drivers side under timing belt, i think. It sounded very rough when i first started her up, no lights came on the dash last night or again today. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas what may be wrong with her?

Car is a s3 8p manual quattro.

You may have a leak on the seals on the boost pipes looking at that but I just think you'll loose boost rather than run rough.
Have you tried unplugging the maf sensor and running it unplugged. If it runs better it's goosed

Will try that on way home and see if it helps, thanks

Had the car plugged into the computer today, its saying misfire cylinder 4. Changed the coil and spark plug but still no joy, so going to do a compression test soon and change injector. Hopefully she will be fixed soon
