Ha another problem has cropped up on my 99 1.8T seems to be falling apart after one month!

When I turned the ignition this morning, the car started fine but there was a rumbling vibration coming from the engine. Driving it the car seemed to have no power at all (felt like driving that £100 escort I had years ago). I stopped just doubled checked the levels (to make sure she wouldnt blow up!) and everything is fine. Started back up and seemed fine. Gave it some beans and turbo kicked in fine ????

Anyone experienced this before and got any ideas what it might be? Ive noticed now and then the car jerks on acceleration but its not often.

Going to get a full service and new stat on thursday but any other help on what I might need to sort out would be handy.:icon_thumright:

Coilpack or MAF - If it sounds like a tractor it wil be firing on 3 cylindars so Coils will need replacing.

Deffo sounds like a coil pack or a loose connection somewhere. Just be careful about driving around on 3 cylinders (which is what you are doing if a coilpack goes) as you will be putting unburnt petrol through the catalyst which won't do it any good.

take it is an intermitant prob as just went for drive then and its fine again. thanks for advice mind, Ill have to get this sorted quick smart
