Active cruise control

Hi. I'm new to this forum having taken delivery of my A3 S-line last friday. I was reading through some of the posts about switching various options on and there was a mention that the Active Cruise Control could be activated (if you have cruise control). Does this just work or does the car need any more sensors fitted?

It's called 'Adaptive Cruise Control' and you need to spec it as an option. It may be able to be retrofitted but it'd be very expensive, you do need extra hardware.
