Hi,
new to the B5 forum,(traded down)
first question:
over the last few days the abs and traction control warning lights have come on. Put the brakes on and it doesn't come on straight away...as you finish braking and just release the pedal ever so slightly, the ABS and the ESP light come on. Then stop the engine and restart and the lights don't come on unless you brake again.
I've turned off the ignition re-started it and the lights have gone out. However, yesterday they came on and now every time I start moving the car they come on and stay on.

I've checked the brake fluid levels, wiring to the abs sensors at the wheels.

is it the brake switch under the pedal and is it a known fault?

where can i get one, and does anybody have a part number?

cheers,

tony

The MAF is the airflow sensor for the engine.

It feeds info to the ESP system and can bring on the warning lights if it goes faulty.

Your ******* into the wind trying to fix it without getting the fault codes though, could be anything.
