Firstly, thanks to anyone that takes the time to read and give any insight to the problems im currenlty experiecning, its massively appriciated.
So.......
Im due to do a European Rally in August (If it still goes ahead) and me and my freind both decided a B6 A4 1.8t would be the perfect cheap car to tour Europe. After a few weeks of looking, i find not one but 2 that look tidy (ish) and in budget albeit both with there own issues.
To cut a long story short, i buy one (Herin reffered to as the black one) whislt i have a live bid on ebay for another (The red one), convinced i would be outbid i though nothing of it, until i get a notification telling me i have won, for the princly sum of £75. At that price it was a no brainer to keep it, and have two cars to hopefuly combine into one that actually works.
The black one runs, has Bose, full heated electric red leather and most thing work, but the body is rough and the cluch / DMF is totally dead to the point it wont move at all.
The red one has a fairly good body, not as well specced but just wont start at all.
Me being me, wants to get the Red one running and use the black one for any parts or upgrades as i want, and certinaly helps as a reference to check why the Red on isnt working.
So, i have run the codes and come up with the following, im assuming and please correct me if im wrong that the 17069 fault code is possibly the main reason for not starting, and possibly contributing to many of the others. I have since cleared the codes and 17069 comes back straight away whereas alot of the others dont.
The car cranks but does not fire, i have replaced the ECM relay under the ECU and the fault is still there. I have checked all fuses, and all appear to be fine, i have fuel going to the rail and at pressure so can rule the fuel pump out, but having removed the fuel rail, no fuel is delievered out of the injectors. I believe i have spark but is irrelivent without fuel. I will run the VCDS output test on the injectors tomorrow but im thinking that its the ECU telling them not to pulse.
Anyone got any ideas on where else to check? Is there any other tests i can do on VCDS or with a multimeter? I dont have a bently manual but have tried to search and read through many of the other similar posts on here and check anything i can. I have a feeling its possibly a wiring issue, or the ECU itself but would love to hear any suggestions to either confirm or deny.
I am tempted to try the ECU out of the black car but im not sure if it will work without coding, or, wether i want to risk connecting it if a wiring fault has fried the original ECU.
