A3 bluetooth stopped working

I just noticed today the bluetooth isn't connecting and neither the mode or the voice control buttons are responding on the streering wheel. My car is a 2011 A3 sports, I looked around on the web and some people mentioned to switch the car off, wait 10 mins and try again but this didn't work.

Looks like I'll have to take it to the dealers to get it checked out, but want to know if there is anything else I can check myself?
