Hi
Having a bit of bodywork sorted on my A3 after a rear end crash and the garage somehow manages to smash the rear window as the anti roll devices had activated and somehow caused the window to break.
An argument then ensued over why it wasnt their fault but what i am posting for is to ask if you can replace the window with changing the whole roof which is around £2k from Audi?

If the garage has broken the window whilst in their care, it is their responsibility. Simple.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that the window can be replaced without replacing the roof. Ask your local Audi Dealer?

Failing that, take it to a convertible roof specialist in your local area. I had an issue with the roof liner coming apart for the rear window when I had a A5 cab. I spoke to an Audi specialist and I got that crazy 2K quote. I took it it to a convertible specialist. Someone that purely works on convertible roofs. He fixed it, I had to go back a few times as it continued to leak but it costed me the grand total of £66+VAT. It's definately worth looking into, if you can get the dealership to admit liability.

I wish it was a dealership. Just a local small bodyshop garage who i know will make a bit of a song and dance over this. If you do know of any soft top specialist in North London/Herts in fact anywhere that would be a great start.

Just search soft top convertible repair on google maps. Also, maybe post some pics of the extent of the damage on the thread.

I have a Youtube channel where i buy and repair salvage cars and the latest video is mostly about the Audi. You can take a look here

I will post some picture tomorrow once i get over to the garage.
