hi all,
I’ve recently developed a code p0343 camshaft position sensor A - Bank 1. Circuit high input. só car struggles to start but starts on 2/3 attempt. Drives fine plenty of power throughout the range. A mate of mine said these had an issue with crank sensors which stopped it from starting so I replaced it with a delphi one however the fault still remained. Anyone got any ideas?
I replaced timing belt beginning of the year and never had an issue starting it til a month ago.( hardly drive the car but going to start driving it on a daily basis)
Help!!
Thanks

16727/P0343/000835 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): Signal too High

Possible Symptoms
Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) active
Possible Causes
Wiring from/to Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) faulty
Camshaft Position Sensor (G40) faulty
Timing misaligned

Possible Solutions
Check Wiring from/to Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
Check Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
Check Timing

Have you scanned with VCDS or a generic reader? some generic readers won't register all VAG fault codes so wondering if there are any others lurking in there..

This gut had similar issues..

I'd at least double check the timing of the belt in case its slipped or is out and the code reader hasn't picked it up
