Hi,
I changed the thermostat on my 2005 A3 earlier today. When I removed the thermostat I snapped part of the plastic insert which you 1/4 turn the thermostat into.
Either way I managed to fit it back together, replace the rubber 0 ring, but the housing is now slowly leaking coolant.
I tried fitting the old 0 ring again, but it seems as though it must have stretched over time as the new 0 rings that came with the new thermostat were smaller.
Could the plastic insert which snapped be causing the leak, or is it likely to be that I'm installing the O ring incorrectly?
Thanks
