Merc A45s...

Yes the weather has hampered car cleaning & I am only once every 2 to 3 weeks atm too.
I'm quite happy applying different waxes to be fair (@Bristle Hound knows I particularly like Obsession waxes and have a few which give different results so I enjoy applying different ones for differnt times of the year) plus my car is garaged at night so that helps too of course.
I wa sjust interested to know what everyone else was using - mainly for alloys and the exhaust really.
It aint that much more expensive than my RS3 to be fair, but it is the most powerful hot hatch in the world right now

Very fast ornament......lol
I was looking at used/low mileage Rs3 saloons the other day.....I'd be very content with one with a very nice spec and colour ......next year ?????

I considered one of the last RS3's before they were gone ahead of the new model, bit it would just be too similar, even in saloon form and after having mine for 4 years.

In your shoes, from an S3 though I think it could definitely be an option and you would 100% feel like you're in a totally differnt car and appreciate the extra oooomph and sound

( ps: you can't take it with you lol )

Cool that sounds up my street ... quick & easy to apply & lasts ages

Is that what you’re using atm too then @jassyo06 ?

If you want to ceramic cost, GTechniq C5 easy enough, or otherwise Gyeon Wet Coat is handy as quick spray on and rinse off to give hydrophobic protection

Dealer has confirmed car has arrived so pick up all on for next weekend ... end of an Audi era for me 2008 - 2020

Picked it up today and one word ... wow !

Simply an incredible car I’m blown away

I’ll post more details soon Guys but I’m over the moon. I can’t believe it’s just an A class ... it feels like it should be £100k ... the quality is off the scale ... I’m so so pleased

Dealer handover was also the best I’ve ever had

Lovely. Love the yellow bits and the grille. My other half's dash like that went dead on his a35 when he was driving yesterday. Totally blank. I thought a fuse must have gone but it came back after restarting the car.

Sounds like you are going to have fun in the 45.

Awesome @Snake Pliskin, looks amazing, and even better you are well chuffed. Your RS3 remains my favourite RS

Look forward to more thoughts in the coming weeks and months

Which Pilot Sport though.......4S?
Those brake calipers look massive!

Yeah they are 4s mate
The callipers are updated for the 45 (over the 35) so some serious stopping power

@Snake Pliskin I'm just thinking......it's a good job you managed to get your car now and not have to wait till after 1st April, because with the new tax changes that models first year rate will most likely rise quite considerably.

yeah someone else mentioned that to me too mate ... I think on the sales doc it was around £1,250 for road tax first year which is bad enough .. god knows what they’ll hike it up to ?

They don't seem to be making it easy to see what the changes are. I looked on the government website a couple of weeks ago and couldn't find any information and the dealers are saying get in now before the changes but not actually saying what they are.
Did you order anything Ron?

Nice new Avatar snake, and tiles

ha ha glad you like it, straight off the enginer cover and shame not to put that carbon fibre to good effect

Jeez, that's about 50% more than the M40i was when I got it in January. The M40d was around £1200 that time from memory.

That's right there is very little public information available on this except the horror story maximum rises of over £900 which will affect some models.
I would expect full details to be available after the budget on Wednesday.
Yes I have ordered a CLA 250 which may or may not arrive before 1st April. First year rate is currently £210 which my dealer says will rise to £530.....but only time will tell.

Yes an eye watering £1280...that's what the current price list says anyway. Just for comparison the 35 model is £530.
Curiously though, the CLA 45S first year rate is only £855, but the Shooting Brake is £1280
But yeah.....expect an increase on them all after 1st April.

Further to my post above....I was too late to edit it, but there maybe no increase to the A45S after all because most cars seem to be jumping at least 1 band, but if the A45S is already in the highest band there is nowhere to go.
Who knows though.....like I said only time will tell.

The interior at night is incredible

I've got the ambient set to yellow to match the yellow highlights - its quite subtle but very effective

I'm very very happy with this car !
