Engine Management Light check

I have viewed an Audi A6 2.5 TDI SE (2001) and am considering buying it. however, I am concerned that when the ignition is first turned on (but engine not fired up), all of the lights on the dash display (eg Air Bag, ABS, handbrake etc) are on/light up but the Engine Management light does not. Is this normal? Obviously concerned if the garage have tampered with it to hide a Engine Management fault.

Any help on this appreciated.

Thats normal mate. they should all go out when the engines started though, except handbrake and lights if there on

If the engine management light is a triangle with an exclamation mark inside it and a circular arrow around it then it should go on for about a second when the ignition is switched on.
