I have the small disklok. It has 3 size settings. I usually use the largest setting so it is def not too big.

It will leave indentations on the wheel. Minor marks but marks nevertheless.
 
I'm going to see how that plays out on your car, Col, before I decide whether to buy one or not.

I've got 2 of these to try and stop the indents

Plus after a bit of research ont' 'tinterweb I'm going to line the offending interior part of the Disklok with some foam. Apparently having the 'bar' at the 7 o clock position instead of 12 o clock all but elimintes the indents I'm told

Just got an email from my Salesperson - My S4 is now status 40 - landed in the Uk port!

I've got one of these concreted in behind the motor. Obviously only works at home, but leaves no marks whatsoever

Soooo close!! During these times It actually becomes difficult to occupy the mind with absolutely anything else in life other than your B8.5 Audi S4 Quattro!

Been busy with the Grandkids over the weekend

No news from the Salesperson, but I expected this I said I don't want collection till mid June as got a few things on including a week away in Lanzarote in the 1st 2 weeks of June

Will ring Audi CS am tomorrow to see where my new car is

Just checked my VIN of which I already have

According to the 11th digit in it, my S4 was built at Ingolstadt

Eventful day on my S4 order today

I visited the Dealers and spoke with the Salesperson late this morning to arrange collection 16th June. After a few calls by the Salesman & much to my surprise, he said that my car had arrived at the Dealers off-site compound this morning via transporter along with 10 other cars

Confirmed the spec as I was mildly concerned that the yourAudi tracker was missing some options I added. No worries they were there. I know the tracker system is still in Beta mode so obviously it still has some teething probs

While we were talking, I suggested I may take the S4 early (in May) if the right 'incentives' were offered. After some negotiations, the Dealer offered me 2 services (on the Fixed Inspection service schedule, worth £600-£700 for the S4) which I took like a shot!

So the upshot is, I'll be collecting me new S4 on Saturday morning!


After much pressure from me lol I got the Salesman to take me to the Dealers off-site compound (which is not accessible to the public) for a look at me new car

Well all I can say is, feck me its absolutely stunning! Sepang blue is so ... wow! Leather door armrest finish the inside off very very nicely!



Considering the car was dirty and still covered in the white film glue, it still looks stunning! Will be still this dirty with the film on the piano black exterior trim when I collect it as I didn't want the Dealer prepping it

Only 2 sleeps to go ...

iPhone 5S leads in the deal as is a full tank of petrol. Just wondering if there's anything else ...

PS Did notice that there is a litre of top up oil in the plastic cover thing in the boot when the Salesman opened the car/boot up for me. Boot net & mats in the sealed packet in the boot too

Gorgeous S4. Did you add the Sport Differential? If I get an S4 for normal daily use, should I be super concerned about whether or not it has the SD?

Can't wait to see more pics of this beast.

Can I ask @Bristle Hound - why would the dealer provide an incentive to take the car earlier than you had originally planned?

My car is due @ September, but may appear in August and I would likely wait until the new registrations before picking the car up. However I couldn't really give a rats *** about having a 'new' plate so would pick up early if it was in the dealers interest, and they offer an incentive to do so.

Just wondering how you managed to get 2 free services so I have some ammo should I find myself in the same position later on this year ..

One thing does occur to me, Col. If you're picking it up tomorrow, that's 30th May, so does that mean you're losing almost the entire first month's (very expensive) VED? If so, wouldn't Monday be better, or is that what the dealer incentive is about, to get it registered in May?

When I picked up my S3 the dealer had registered it on the last day of the month but put 1 year and 1 weeks tax on it so I didn't loose out.

I managed to see my car in the compound, was horrified to see how high it sat - but it still had the chocks in the suspension.
