hi eveyone, I have searched the forum on this and read all I can, I think I have got my head round it all.
Am I right in thinking 18" by 8.5" et44 would be ok on an 8l s3

Iv seen people with 9.5" on here but didn't want to run into any problems with rubbing.
Thanks for any advice

Tom

If you plan on running 8.5J, you need ET35 minimum, ET30 would be more ideal, ET44 will hit the strut!

Thanks for the reply jojo, since starting
These thread i have looked a lot more on Google etc.. If I was to go for the rota grids it would have to be the 18" by 9.5". Et32 would make it a 25mm on either side of the wheel.

Two things I'd like to know. How far can the wheel go into the arch before it hits the strut in mm, and would 9.5" wheels have an adverse effect to the handling? Is it to far, if so what width would be ideal?

Thanks again

I believe you need ET23 to clear the front struts, and a stretched 225/40R18 tyre to clear the wheel arch, it will have poke with this setup. The rears is easier, as you have more room.

Look into bola b1. The 8.5 have a lot more concave than the grids do,

This was mine with 8.5/9.5

Am I right in saying you have about 142mm to the strut then? I didn't really want to have overly stretched tyres. Is 225 the only option?

There better. I've had grids before and the 8.5 are flat. Bola b1 are also £500 ish.
