Different front bumper for S3 Saloon vs Hatch

I've only just paid attention to the slight difference in bumpers between the Saloon and Hatch S3.
The hatch seems to have gills to the side, with a flat splitter running the width, whereas the Saloon has no gills and has a much deeper appearance.

Question: will the saloon bumper fit the hatch? And WHY didn't Audi fit this to the hatch, it's so much better.

The Saloon is longer, wider and lower, and has a wider track.

As V8 says the wheel arches look more flared on the saloon so the bumpers are unlikely to be interchangeable.

As V8 said, the Saloon is wider so the wheelarches are more flared out - presumably the "gills" at the side wouldn't work properly or look right on it so they dropped them. Think it looks a bit cleaner myself - the bigger wheel offset alone makes a lot of difference to the looks IMO.
