Well, I had to leave the Exige house and go back to the Cayman and Boxster house. Except the Cayman has now gone and in its place is this brand new twin-turbo 335d.
Dealership did minimal work on the paint as requested and there were only a few minor swirls on the areas that had strong sunlight on them.
Full paint decontamination, cleansing and protection was the order of the day.
When I finally arrived (a whole 3 mins after leaving my house!!) I felt a bit sorry for his good ladys Boxster and gave it a foaming and pressure rinse.
The BMW was quite dirty, with some heavy stuff dwelling around the lowers.
The car was first sprayed with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and left to dwell for 5 mins before being pressured off. Then snow foamed in a similar fashion and rinsed.
Ready now for the main mitt wash:
Clayed:
Rinsed and dried again ready for paint cleansing inside.
Jeffs Prime Strong Acrylic All-in-One was applied via a 3M finishing pad on the rotary (off-600-800rpm). This is a very underrated AIO and leaves an amazing finish on its own, ready for wax/sealant LSP.
Here are some pics of the car just after the Jeffs stage:
It was now time to apply Zaino Z2-Pro via MF applicator. Dried in about 20 minutes, ready for residues to be buffed clear.
The wheels were given a coat of Z2 also:
Before taking the car outside, I gave it a Z8 spray and final wipe down ready for the final pics:
I had arranged for the Exige owner to pop out to get some finer pics with the Canon 400D. Thanks go to Clark for the remaining pics:
I did like Nivs Cayman but I have to say this is one damn fine car too. Id rather own this one than the Cayman to be honest. This is too much of an all-rounder in comparison.
Comments and questions welcome.
Thanks,
JOHN
