Hello guys,

One of my good friends just installed a 12V Usb socket in his 03 TT.

He found all that he needed in this really short guide:
https://carhutchinson.wordpress.com/2015/07/22/12v-usb-installation/

Upon looking the part up on ebay, I can see it's quite inexpensive and it doesn't look like a big install
(saying that as I just retrofited Cruise Control and changed the brake and clutch switches aka feeling ACE!)

However, my electronics knowledge is 0!
On top of that there is no similarity in terms of what the TT has under the steering wheel compared to the A4 B7.

My question to you folks is: has anyone attempted fitting this?

Does anyone want to give it a try? I am in Birmingham and am open to making a guide for everyone :)

Season's regards,
Big.B

Depends on your budget, but I can fit this.

Hi yes I just installed a 5 port usb with two fast charge ports from eBay and installed into Glove box took out head unit to run the wiring and installed an aux cigarette lighter under steering wheel area with a fuse tap so easly reveasible if wanted, no wires over gear stick or handbrake is a bonus too

If you do a good enough guide
Step by step and lots of pictures
Im ***** with electrics too
I would give it a go

If i were to do this i would want it the multi socket in my glovebox

The fuse tap or piggy back adapter you need is the standard one as there is a smaller one too, sorry I should have done a step by step guide

NHN or Nigel is your best bet for anyone who wants this kind of thing , who's unsure of electrical work , he's worked on my car and he's such a pleasant guy . can't praise him enough .

I understand the pigy back adaptor as ive just used one for a live connection for my head unit

What did you do with the loop conector(in your picture)

Sorry loop conector do you mean the black earth ? That goes on any bolt that's around fuse box area think there is three usable around fuse box if you ping cover away

Yeah thats the one lol
I keep forgeting the correct name of the fitting
