I've got a BRE engined 2007 Audi A4 Avant CVT 2.0 TDI which I bought just under a year ago. About a month ago it's started developing a misfire which reliably occurs in certain conditions. I can't find a post from anybody with a similar issue so I'm a little lost on this...

I have an 06 A3 Quattro and the gearbox has shat itself, I’ve been told by a mechanic that I can put my diff and transfer box onto a 2wd box, which he’s already managed to do, will this cause any issues?

To go back a bit, the car had a check engine light for an EGR valve issue, posted here; https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4-b8-platform-discussion-128/au-audi-a4-b8-allroad-diesel-egr-fault-codes-3003496/.
Turns out the EGR was gunked up and the solenoid burnt out trying to move...
