maybe try just replacing the breather line that leads up to it? i checked it out on the parts data base and it can be done

if you have it topped up to the max line then once the engine warms up and you are driving around the coolant rises and will spit it out. if the engine is cold the coolant should be right on the min line as when warm it will rise to the max line,too much coolant and it will spit it out

i was quoted 42 plus vat for the coolant temp sensor alone from audi just two days ago,where did you get both your sensors from?

mines does this on occasion but has never failed to start,do you mean take the cap off (leave it off) while trying to start it?

most likely your thermostat was stuck open,mines was doing the exact same thing ,changed it and the problem was sorted
