Irrespective of car , dealerships have sales targets which they need to achieve. Pardon the expression but catch them at the right time of the month (or quarter) and you could land yourself a respectful discount. Our last four car purchases, all from new, have secured in excess of 10% discounts...

I was hoping to go by more than a sales men's perspective and more to do with reliably sourced information. In any case, I only have garage space for two cars which are both occupied so it might mean the S3 8P will have to go to make room for an RS3 as and when it is debuted.

Super looking car and lovely colour. Astonishling, I would've thought the RS3 came equipped with a Interior LED pack. I've not seen one in the flesh but I understand it does come with LED brake lights, right? I would love to see a pic of those bad boys in action. Enjoy the car.

disappointingly no quad or twin exhausts, no keyless ignition. no front fogs? nice to see LED rear brake lights... nice to see standard 19 inch wheels. glad it finally happened.

My sentiments entirely Dave - it is an ageing platform althought that said, the same principles apply to the RS4, right? The only model(s) to buck the trend are the TTRS and RS5...

Paddy - its a deposit, not a black hole. If and when details are finalised and one is not happy, request a refund on the deposit.

I haven't done anything yet Paddy, although I am willing to hedge 2K for the oppurtunity.

As Promised.. .................. Rumours are correct, my 2 sales managers have just been away at a general Audi UK sales meeting and amongst other things they had a sneak look at the RS3. The car is due to be open for factory ordering from the beginning of the new year and only 500 are going...

Going to email my dealership in the morning to establish how much of this is folklore - not that i'm in disbelief given how many anticipated motor shows have come and gone... Proof of the pudding is in the eating but i will report back on my findings..
