yes it's a TP25. What do you intend to do with it? because if you're planning on programming it yourself you'll need to have some decent kit. You're not gonna do it with VCDS as it needs to be pre-coded before it can be coded to the car
Ok. I'm possibly going to be up in Scotland on the 9th Feb & will be heading back down a1 to Newcastle before I carry on down a1 to the m1. Will probably be in the afternoon or evening
well if you get someone out that does keys for a living they will have equipment to test the transponder before they try to program it. So if it's dead they can just replace it & program it. No need to buy a full new key from Audi
the problem is if you go to Audi & the chip is dead they will still charge you. They won't know the chip is dead till they try to program it. They'll then try to pull your pants down by quoting you for a new key.
There's trustworthy people on here that do keys so depending where you are someone...
the transponder in your spare key could be dead. Or at some point it may have had the main key reprogrammed at a garage & the spare was at home so was deleted from the system. Get the key scanned to see of it picks up the transponder in the key. They can be easily damaged if easily dropped &...
the letter at the end is important as it's part of the part number. Your remotes may bot be compatible the that part number module you've bought. What are the 2 modules part numbers?
did you buy the correct part number module? as for coding, you just make a note of the coding in your original module then enter the coding data into the replacement module
ok. First available day i've got is Friday. Can also do Saturday at the moment but that could change quickly as Saturday is usually 1 of my busiest days. I was meant to be having Saturday off to go to a family get together but it's been cancelled
before you go sending parts off i'd get someone else out to verify there's no comms to the ECU. I'm about 50 miles from York/Harrogate so can pop up & take a look if traveling costs etc are covered
plenty of people do get into keys & go around calling themselves an auto locksmith when they've had no training, got no qualifications & no lock experience. They program a couple of keys then all of a sudden they're an auto locksmith
I had someone today phone me that had got a guy out that was...
so he couldn't get any comms with the engine ECU as well as the instrument cluster. I'd still check it with VCDS & see which modules you can get comms with
whatever equipment is used will automatically delete any keys not present so no need to worry about that. You have to enter how many keys your programming, so if you have 1 original & are wanting 1 new key you'd enter 2, then cycle them both in the ignition once prompted
