VOSA has closed and are you sure you haven't just googled someone's opinion of the old guidelines that were produced before the mot test was updated?
Copied from here perhaps?

Where in official documents does it say it's...
Yep everyone agrees need projector lenses and levellers so don't blind oncoming people.
Query was around headlight washers and looks as though this is not a requirement
The DFT guidance seems to be ensuring that projector style lens is used for HID's which everyone agrees with.
Seems there is no need for the OP to install headlight washers from an MOT or Legal point of view.
MOT is vague pal - hence the query and why no one seems to have failed their MOT for not having washers and after market HID's.
Does anyone know why xenon's come with washers on cars? All the rules must have a good explanation behind them.
I upgraded my previous A3 to xenons and never had any MOT problems.
TBH I wish my current car didn't have headlight washers as hate the water going all over my bonnet making it attract dirt when i'm just wanting to wash my windshield.
How does a dirty xenon affect other road users? If it's...
Cheers artimus. Could've collected it too but out of stock on eBay and (unsurprisingly) they wouldn't price match. Car feels much more responsive now. Thought would only affect starting the engine. ECP took 2 old batteries for recycling too.
Thanks guys
Hi guys. Got a 2009 S3 sportback with 50k and the car didn't start yesterday. Have a battery charger which is indicating the battery is not holding charge. Manage to get it started after leaving it plugged in for a while but rely on my car a lot.
Gonna pop down to ECP later. Any recommendations...
Looks great. However as tempted as I am, I will resist purchasing an RNS unit for this reason and wait until I can afford a newer Audi in a few years with a screen that disappears
I've got the same seat and even with 5 doors it's a struggle getting the seat in as it's quite heavy and find it needs to be connected to the ISOFIX base before the base slots onto the car.
That's good you have no issues. If I had a choice bet 3dr and 5dr then I would always have 5dr as its...
Personally even though a 3 dr car can be used with a baby seat in the back, it's a lot easier with 5 doors. Especially it they've fallen asleep and you're putting them in the car without unnecessarily disturbing them and making sure all the straps are tight.
I went from a 3dr A3 to a 5dr S3...
I wouldn't buy an S3 from a non dealer personally as there's no warranty and S3's are usually driven hard. TBH a 5k mileage car would be in bad condition if not been looked after.
